SDC 491 Emergency door release break glass station provides immediate unlocking of perimeter doors or interior doors that are equipped with fail-safe electric locks. The 491s built in alarm may be used as a local door annunciator. The SDC 491 is specifically designed for emergency door release and may influence the approval of an electric locking system. This type of Emergency Door Release may be preferred over a pull station since greater commitment is required to break the glass. Aluminum rod for striking the glass is included. Blue housing with easy to read activation instructions avoids confusion with red fire alarm stations. 2-SPDT 10 Amp contacts; 1-SPDT for lock release and 1-SPDT auxiliary contact for remote monitoring, CCTV activation or alarm activation. The SDC 491 may initiate the release of an individual door or all doors on the same circuit. The SDC 491 may be mounted in a 2-inches deep single gang back box or double gang box with plaster ring cover. The SDC 491 may be surface mounted with a 491-BB surface mount back box. Two replacement glass plates included. Measures 3-1/2-inches width by 5-1/2-inches height by 1-3/8-inches depth.

Unfortunately, my SDC break glass station arrived with a dent, which was disappointing. However, it functions just fine and the siren is loud as advertised. I just think they need to improve their packaging to protect these better during shipping!

Great safety addition for my business
The SDC 490 emergency station has been a fantastic addition to our safety measures. The siren is very loud and grabs everyone's attention during drills. The size makes it easy to mount on any wall, and the blue color is easy to spot. I'm glad we invested in this!

Easy to install and operate
I installed the SDC 490 emergency break glass station in our office, and it was super easy! The blue color stands out nicely, which is great for visibility in an emergency. The siren is loud enough to get attention when activated, which adds peace of mind. Definitely a must-have for safety!

Solid product but a bit pricey
The SDC 490 series break glass station works well and has a good siren, but I think it’s a little pricey for what it is. The build feels sturdy, so I guess you get what you pay for. Just wish it came down a bit in price!

Looks good but had shipping issues
I received the SDC emergency station, and it looks great in blue. However, it took longer to arrive than expected, which was a bit frustrating. Once I got it, setting it up was straightforward. Just wish the packaging had been better to avoid any possible damages in transit!
