To install in joist spans of less than 12 inches, simply collapse the hanger bars then bend and break them along the score lines--no tools needed. The bars can also be removed and repositioned on the opposite side of the frame if you need to mount the unit at 90 degrees to the original configuration. Wiring is a breeze with Halos patented Slide-N-Side wiring system, which allows wiring outside the junction box.While this unit is not IC-rated, you can install with insulation as long as you keep it at least three inches from the housing.
