Its shallow 5-1/2 profile makes it an ideal fit for shallow ceilings and joist construction. As an Air-Tite certified fixture, it meets ASTM E283 standards to restrict airflow between conditioned and unconditioned areas, helping to reduce energy loss and lower utility bills while meeting California Title 24 and IECC high-efficacy requirements. Installation is designed to be fast and toolless. The housing features four spring-steel remodel clips that securely lock the unit into 1/2 or 5/8 ceiling materials for a flush, professional finish. The Slide-N-Side junction box allows for quick wiring outside the housing with built-in wire traps for NM cable, while the included Quick Connect push-in wire nuts feature clear caps for instant connection visibility. For added safety, the single-wall aluminum housing is designed to dissipate heat effectively and includes a pre-installed Air-Tite aperture gasket to ensure a precision seal against the ceiling. This dedicated LED recessed lighting housing uses a specialized plug-in connector (UL/CSA-listed luminaire disconnect) instead of a traditional screw base. This ensures that only high-efficiency LED modules are used, preserving the fixtures efficiency rating. The H995RICAT is fully compatible with HALO 4-inch LED recessed lights, including the RA4, RL4, LT4, ML4, and RSQ4, and is versatile enough for use in damp or wet locations when paired with the appropriate trims.
