Halogen Bulbs

Halogen light bulbs are also called efficient light bulbs that can produce light from the flow of electricity. Halogen bulbs are mainly used in television and film production, commercial and home lighting, motor vehicles and much more. If you are looking to increase the efficiency of your lights and lamps but at the same time prefer the look of a traditional bulb, the halogen bulbs are best suited for your preference. Just like traditional bulbs, halogen bulbs are incandescent which passes electricity through a tungsten wire. Traditional bulbs are usually filled with nitrogen-argon, whereas halogen bulbs are filled with bromine. In a traditional bulb, when tungsten evaporates, it leaves metal deposits on the inside of the glass, creating the black color which is visible on the top of old light bulbs. In a halogen bulb, the gas allows the bulb to reach higher temperatures, where tungsten is vaporized rather than deposited on the glass.

Halogen Light Bulbs

Unlike CFL bulbs, halogen bulbs provide the same look as traditional bulbs, so they don't look odd or out of place in light fixtures. Halogen bulbs also light fully without hesitation as soon as the light switches on and work very well with dimmers. Halogen bulbs can create a warm glow with a yellowish cast rather than a blue one, so they feel more like traditional lighting, unlike LED lighting. Though halogen lighting is similar to traditional lighting, it costs less to operate. A halogen bulb can produce the same amount of light as a traditional incandescent while using only 25 percent less energy, making them a greener option than traditional bulbs. Halogen bulbs are also easily recyclable. If you don't have a halogen recycling program, the bulbs are safe to dispose of with your regular trash. Halogen lights are basically small, lightweight, and easy to produce. An incandescent light may last up to 1000 hours, but a halogen light can last for over 2500 hours. Talk about efficiency. Halogen lights produce a color temperature that is closer to that of the Sun, which is white in color compared to the orange color given off by incandescent lights.
